I got into this industry through the back door — my first foray into entrepreneurship was running Facebook ads for local businesses back in 2017. I was good at driving traffic. But I kept watching that traffic land on mediocre websites and do absolutely nothing. No inquiries. No conversions.
The ads weren't the problem. The brands underneath them were.
So I stopped selling traffic and started fixing the reason it wasn't converting — the brand and website the traffic was landing on. At first, I did this for free just to make sure our clients got better results. Then, I realized that building profitable brand foundations was what I truly loved.
I worked with my first interior designer in 2019 — and that was it. I already knew the industry because my mom was an interior designer. I spent my childhood at estate sales, auctions, and helping her with her antique business. Interior designers also share a similar process and genuinely value good design. It was a match made in heaven.
So in 2020, I put my stake in the ground. We would only serve interior designers. It was the only way to deeply understand the business model, the unique pain points, and the real challenges of this industry. 800+ interior designers later, and I feel like I'm just now cracking the surface of this niche.
